CP Northern gets control order from West Yorkshire Police
CP Northern has supplied three bespoke lighting-management systems for three new police stations in West Yorkshire. They are designed to optimise energy efficiency and provide flexibility to meet diverse lighting-control requirements. They can automatically monitor and test emergency lighting.
The three projects are the Leeds District (DHQ) and custody suite at Elland Road, the Carr Gate specialiser operations training facility in Wakefield and the Wakefield DHQ and custody suite in Normanton. They were all constructed under an Interserve-led PFI project for West Yorkshire Police & Crime Commissioner.
CP Northern supplied and commissioned all three projects simultaneously, cover over 30 000 addressable DALI devices — including about 20 000 individually addressable luminaires.
The spaces controlled range from open-plan office areas and training areas through to cell blocks and firing ranges — all of which have complex switching requirements.A large building for public-order training incorporates several types of lighting to simulate various environments that police may be required to enter.
The DALI panels were specially designed to they could fit into risers. All systems are monitored centrally at CP Northern’s headquarters in support of the facilities-management team of West Yorkshire Police.
The lighting-control strategy includes daylight linking, presence and absence detection and scene-setting panels in meeting rooms.
