JS Wright lands two regeneration projects
Building-Services provider JS Wright is working on regeneration contracts worth £3.5 million in London with Rydon. The contracts are for the revamp of nearly 200 affordable homes in the low-rise Bacton Estate (pictured) of Camden Council in north London and for 120 apartments in the 24-storey Grenfell Tower in North Kensington. The total cost of the schemes is £60 million.
The Grenfell Tower project involves designing and installing new heating, ventilation and boosted water supplies. The central plant will also serve nine new flats and a remodelled nursery that JS Wright will be fitting out as part of the £10 million revamp of the 1970s tower.
At Bacton Estate, a temporary plantroom will deliver energy-efficient hot-water heating to each of 66 apartments through individual interface units. JS Wright will also design and install hot- and cold-water services, extract ventilation, above-ground drainage and lighting services.
The temporary plantroom will be replaced by a new energy centre in August 2015, when work will begin on the remaining homes on the estate.
