Condair delivers new humidifiers for the Wellcome Trust

Condair humidifiers in the atrium of the Wellcome Trust headquarters in London have been replaced after 12 years.

Condair, formerly JS Humidifiers, has supplied three HP high-pressure space humidification systems at Wellcome Trust’s headquarters in London. They replace the Condair spray humidifiers installed in 2003 and maintain humidity in the atrium for the health, comfort and wellbeing of staff and visitors.

Located in three AHUs in the basement, the humidifiers provide low-energy hygienic humidity by introducing finely atomised water treated by reverse osmosis directly into the airstream. The water evaporates rapidly to give the desired 50% RH.

Running costs are significantly less than traditional steam humidifiers, and evaporative cooling is also provided.

The humidifiers deliver up to 425 l/h of water at 70 bar from manifolds of high-pressure nozzles.

Water is exposed to ultra-violet light, ensuring hygienic operation, and the system is regularly flushed to prevent stagnation. The entire system is made of stainless steel.

Condair, in conjunction with Optimum Group Services, also maintains the humidifiers under a Condair planned-maintenance agreement.
