Lochinvar upgrades EcoShield water heaters

Lochinvar, water heater, DHW, domestic hot water

Lochinvar has made a series of major improvements to its EcoShield range of condensing gas-fired water heaters. A 35 kW model has been added to the range, and the whole range benefits from a series of design enhancements to simply installation and maintenance.

The EcoShield range now comprises six models with hot-water recovery rates from 612 to 2436 l/h through a temperature rise of 50 K. These units are designed around the principle of low hot-water storage (248 to 424 l) with fast recovery. The modulating pre-mix burner has a 5:1 turndown ratio.

The redesign enables these water heaters to be installed with minimal clearances — including no clearance when sited against a rear wall.

Maintenance is simplified by being able to access the heat exchanger, burner and controls from the front of the water heater. All pipework connections are on the top.

An integral pump is standard, with the new models upgraded to a fully modulating high-efficiency pump.

Built-in controls provide information on operating status and detailed diagnostics. There are contacts for connecting to a BMS.

These water heaters can be used as part of unvented or open-vented hot-water systems.
