Tridium’s Niagara 4 meets Internet of things

Tridium’s Niagara 4 Framework is described as the ‘operating system for the Internet of things’. It includes dozens of new features and enhancements to help Niagara developers, integrators and users increase operational and energy efficiency, reduce costs and maintain security.

Nino DiCosmo, president and general manager of Tridium, explains, ‘Niagara is based on the promise of connectivity — between machines and people, regardless of location and protocol. Niagara 4 stretches those boundaries. It has the ability to quickly collect and synthesise tens of thousands of data points, and visualise that data for building operators through a streamlined user interface. The platform will continue to evolve through the innovation and success of the Niagara community.’

Improved visualisation tools include dashboards and charting, which leverage industry-standard HTML5 and other open web technologies.

Faster build and install is made possible with standardised data models through templating — improving cost-to-serve, saving time and reducing errors.

Enhanced security features include role-based access control and code signing — making Niagara 4 secure by default and improving the usability of security features.
