Marigold Court is a development of 41 flats and 17 bungalows operated by Housing 21 partnership.
Mark Elliott of project designer CAD21 says, ‘Having already proved the worth of underfloor heating in previous projects, the client was very happy to specify it again. The final decision to use Giacomini for the installation was made by the contractor, but we jointly considered other manufacturers using a forum of informal interviews.’
Underfloor heating was required for an area of 3373 m2, for which Giacomini supplied 62 manifolds and 16 km of pipework.
A particular design advantage with underfloor heating is the elimination of any exposed pipework and equipment, aiding the provision of the safe ‘low-surface-temperature’ environment for elderly care.
