Danfoss develops valve assemblies for larger plant

Danfoss, valve assemblies, flushing, Hero

Following the launch of its Hero assembly for fan-coil units last year, Danfoss has developed Hero Plant, a pre-fabricated flushing bypass arrangement for larger plant items such as air-handling units, heat exchangers and heater batteries. Hero Plant combines isolation, drain strain and flushing bypass assembly with Danfoss’s AB-QM pressure-independent control to create a ready-to-install solution that saves time on site and eliminates the need for hot works.

Available in sizes DN15 to DN150, Hero Plant is factory built and supplied pressure tested to the Pressure Equipment Directive standard. The PICV at the heart of Hero Plant provides balance at full or partial loads.

Hero plant can be fitted with a variety of Danfoss actuators to enable connection to a BMS or other controller. The combined AB-QM and actuator automatically controls flow to optimise heating and cooling comfort.

Features include drains in flow and return for flushing and quick drain-downs. There is a strainer to remove particles from the system.

As a further aid to installation, components in an assembly can be rotated if, for example, they clash with other pipework.

Once installed, Hero Plant creates optimal hydronic balance, simplifies system flushing and allows flow rates to be measured to detect problem such as a blockage in the system.
