Dunphy burners serve hospital during refurbishment work

Dunphy
Three temporary boiler houses for Doncaster Royal Infirmary benefit form the close physical matching of Dunphy burners and Byworth boilers to achieve compact skid-mounted packages.
While renewing and refurbishing its coal-fired energy centre Doncaster Royal Infirmary has installed three prefabricated and temporary burner/boiler units to main the supply of heat and steam. The combination of Dunphy burners and Byworth boilers used has a footprint that avoids any overlap on skids. Both pieces of equipment are compact and space saving and fit into the restricted boiler houses. The high combustion efficiency of the burners and the resultant high boiler efficiency achieve carbon emissions that are among the lowest in the industry. The burners are designed on the axial-airflow concept, which ensures high combustion efficiency across a wide turndown range and a lower fuel consumption. The motor is encapsulated in a monobloc aluminium burner housing, achieving very quiet operation without additional outlay for acoustic shrouds.
