Condair JetSpray humidifiers provide good conditions at Fujifilm

Published:  05 September, 2017

Condair, JetSpray

To maintain and ideal relative humidity of 40 to 60% in the Fujifilm Imaging & Innovation Centre in Bradford, the company has installed a Condair JetSpray humidification system. It provides the demonstration area, which incorporates the latest Jet Press 720s, with optimum atmospheric conditions for paper storage and printing.

When exposed to dry air, paper loses its internal moisture rapidly, causing its physical shape to change and potential problems when it is run through a printing press. Electrostatic issues are greatly increased when air relative humidity drops below 40%.

The JetSpray humidifier feeds compressed air and water to rows of self-cleaning spray nozzles mounted in the area to be humidified. The compressed air atomises the water as it leaves the nozzles, creating a very fine aerosol that rapidly evaporate. The system has a fully modulating output to control RH to within ±2%.

A PureFlo silver-ion dosing system is incorporated into the incoming water supply. Silver ions have powerful anti-bacterial properties and provide a strong residual effect throughout the water pipework.

JetSpray has standard plumbing fittings, so it is easy to install for any competent HVAC contractor.
