Zumtobel Lighting helps the Bower achieve BREEAM Excellent

Zumtobel Lighting, luminaires

Zumtobel Lighting has supplied a variety of luminaires for ‘The Bower’, a complex £24 million office upgrade and extension project at Stockley Park near Heathrow.

The existing three-storey property has been transformed into one of the largest and most highly-specified new office developments in the Thames Valley region.

The scheme involves major structural alterations to reconfigure, modernise and extend the 1980s era building, creating circa 137,000 sq ft of Grade A BREEAM Excellent rated office accommodation.

The Zumtobel team came up with a solution that includes Lightfields, Slotlight Infinity and Panos Infinity Q luminaires to provide low maintenance and high energy savings throughout the facility. Lightfields is a range of luminaires that allows for flexible and energy efficient lighting schemes with a coordinated aesthetic.

Energy savings are high with Lightfields due to its unique MPO+ micro-pyramidal optic combined with booster technology. For this project, a bespoke 1400mm x 300mm SAS 330 variety with a 5% matt diffuser, and a RAL 9016 bezel was produced to match the ceiling tiles perfectly.

To add to the building’s impressive environmental credentials, the façade will be re-instated and features extensive areas of glazing and high-performance cladding and as part of the project, ISG will comprehensively upgrade and modernise the office’s mechanical and electrical infrastructure, installing new highly-efficient building services and roof-mounted photovoltaic cells to generate emission-free electricity. Part of the Zumtobel Group, acdc, provided its Vista luminaires for external illumination in the area leading up to the entrance.
