Wood to fuel more homes in South Yorkshire

Providing heating systems burning wood fuel in homes in Gleadless and Burngreave in Yorkshire is one of the objectives of £200 000 of funding from Yorkshire Forward for the South Yorkshire Woodfuel Project by South Yorkshire Forest Partnership. The South Yorkshire Wood Fuel project has already funded a similar system to heat three blocks of flats in Barnsley. The new installations in Sheffield will bring to 500 the number of households in South Yorkshire fuelled by renewable biomass — significantly reducing carbon emissions. Further installations are being planned. |
