Air-cooled chillers qualify for Enhanced Capital Allowances

The Rhoss Powercool range of air-cooled chillers being distributed by Coolmation in the UK qualify for Enhanced Capital Allowances. There are eight chillers in the range with cooling capacities from 76 to 182 kW and designed for air-conditioning applications. Each chiller has two high-efficiency scroll compressors using R407C. They are housed in a sound-insulated compartment to reduce noise levels and vibration. Each chiller has special plate-type evaporators with two refrigerant circuits and one water circuit to improve energy efficiency, especially at part load. These chillers are compact in size and available with a choice of options. They can be supplied with or without an integral circulating pump and high-capacity buffer tanks or with just a pump. Two pumps can be provided for run and standby. The performance of these chillers is verified by testing in the new Rhoss laboratory. It is said to be one of only two in Europe that can operate chillers at full load up to 1500 kW. It has recently been endorsed by Eurovent to carry out certification tests. Enquiry Number 137
