Autoflame Engineering developed the first micro-processor-controlled burner-management system over 20 years ago and holds seven worldwide patents on products designed and made at its premises in south-east London. The company received other Queen’s Awards in 1996 and 1997.
Samantha Kirby, operations manager with Autoflame, says, ‘To be recognised as one of the most successful companies in the country for innovation recognises and rewards the many hours of hard work and the late nights put in when on the verge of an engineering breakthrough. We are proud to have some of the finest engineers in the country working with us, ensuring Autoflame remain world leaders in combustion-management systems.’
