Split air-conditioner offers versatility of application

Air conditioner
Fujitsu’s AWY ceiling-wall unit directs warm air at floor level and cooled air at high level for maximum comfort.
Fujitsu describes its AWY ‘ceiling-wall’ split air conditioners as hybrid unit scombining the qualities of its wall and floor/ceiling models in a very compact housing. The inverter models are only 230 mm high, 890 mm wide and 288 mm deep. Despite this small size, a unit can provide cooling up to 6 m horizontally from its face on a 6 m-wide front at the furthest point. Conditioned warm air is delivered at floor level to eliminate cold spots around the feet. In cooling mode, air is dispersed at ceiling level so that it can gradually fall and displace warm air below. Heating pump models off cooling capacities from 4 to 8 kW and heating from 4 to 8.4 kW. Inside the unit is an improved filter system. Mould, fungi and other saprophytic bacteria are disinfected inside by ultra-violet light at two different wavelengths. A hand-held remote controller provides all control functions, including an automatic filter-maintenance routine to help keep the filter in excellent condition. With the addition of these ceiling-wall units, Fujitsu now offers over 200 floor, wall and ceiling models. martin@fujitsu-general.co.uk
