Heatrae Sadia has significantly reduced heat loss from its Megaflow HE and Megatech hot-water cylinders.
Heatrae Sadia has upgraded its Megaflo HE and Megatech solar thermal unvented storage cylinders for hot water to significantly reduce heat loss. Other improvements are the inclusion of a wiring centre and drain valve to assist installers. An insulated cover for the temperature/pressure valve is now included on Megaflo HE, Megatech and Megaflo SystemFit. Jon Cockburn, senior product manager with Heatrae Sadia, explains, ‘There is a huge focus on energy efficiency at the moment — especially because of SAP ratings, HIP packs/energy-performance certificates, the Code for Sustainable Homes and the forthcoming 2010 revisions to Part L of the Building Regulations. There is a very real possibility that from January 2009 hot-water systems will be labelled in terms of their energy efficiency, in line with the EuP (Eco-Design of Energy Using Products) Directive. Megatech is designed to be used with solar panels and evacuated-tube systems and can provide up to 60% of a home’s annual requirements for domestic hot water.
