Carrier responds to persistent increases in the price of raw-materials

Increases in the cost of raw materials have led to Carrier Corporation announcing a 5% increase in the price of all Carrier brand products in the UK. Richard Ward, Carrier Air Conditioning’s commercial director in the UK, explains, ‘Global rises in the cost of important raw materials for the air-conditioning industry, such as plastics, steel, energy and direct labour, have created significant inflationary cost pressures for all manufacturers. ‘Carrier has been absorbing these price increases through an intensive and ongoing programme of initiatives covering factory and distribution efficiency, supplier negotiations, component improvements and strategic purchasing action, but we can’t hold back the tide any longer.’ He also stressed that Carrier Corporation would maintain its high level of investment in highly efficient, competitive, innovative and environmentally sound air conditioning solutions.
