Where more than one connector is needed, weatherproof enclosures are available as switched versions with two to six ways or as 3-way unswitched. These are said to be ideal for hot-tub. sauna, swimming-pool and larger lighting installations.
When a connector has been disconnected, the exposed connector housing can be sealed using a sealing cap to ensure electrical safety.
An active latch mechanism accesses the inner connectors for quicker wiring, and a reliable click-latch system replaces the conventional approach of screwing the two halves together. An O-ring system makes the system waterproof down to a depth of 20 m, with an ingress protection rating of IP68.
