The Airvolution system uses a modern air-handling unit with low-energy features such as variable-speed backward-curved plug fans fitted with high-efficiency EFF1 motors. The high-efficiency thermal wheel recovers over 80% of the energy in the extract air, reducing both heating and cooling costs.
The AHU is matched with air conditioning such as direct expansion, either incorporated or as a separate component sited adjacent.
Integrated controls ensure that the most efficient use is made of the recovered energy by operating as a constant supply temperature system. Air volumes are controlled by inverters to achieve the design supply temperature before switching in further cooling or heating. For much of the year. there is little need for additional fuel.
A display screen enables the client to change fan speed and access working profiles such as temperatures, room humidity, carbon-dioxide levels, efficiency of the thermal wheel and filter condition.
