The 500 m3 sealed chamber supplies units with water at 12°C at flows of up to 300 m3/h. Eight air-handling units deliver air at 44 000 m3/h each to maintain a temperature of 35°C in the chamber. It can test, under real conditions and at full capacity, chillers and heat pumps from 200 to 1200 kW and up to 12 m long.
Because the chilled water leaving the units being tested is used to cool the surrounding air, the chamber uses only a fifth of previous water requirements and only half the electricity.
The chamber can also be used for performance testing to determine cooling capacity and EER of entire packaged systems in response to requests from customers or independent certification bodies.
