Cofely brings Cofathec and Elyo under a single banner

A new name in energy services has been created with the merging of Cofathec and Elyo as Cofely.

The creation of this new company consolidates the leadership of GDF Suez in Europe and facilitates expansion in the growing market for operation and maintenance and energy solutions, where environmental efficiency is very important.

The move enhances the expertise of GDF Suez in energy and environmental performance, the production and distribution of local and renewable energies, and service integration through multi-technical services.

The Cofely name has already replaced Cofathec and Elyo in the UK and France and will gradually be adopted by other energy-services companies , including Axima and GTI in Europe.

Over half the revenues from the energy-services business line, worth Eu14 billion in 2008, will be generated under the Cofely brand name through 35 000 employees in over 15 countries.

Jérôme Tolot, a member of the executive committee in charge of the energy-services business line, says, ‘Cofely is currently the leading European brand for environmental and energy-efficiency services. The new name will support the development of our energy-services business line to better meet the needs of our customers, both businesses and municipalities.’
