Zumtobel highlights the life of Grace Darling

Zumtobel
Functional and display lighting in the RNLI Grace Darling Museum is provided by Zumtobel luminaires.

The versatility of Zumtobel’s range of lighting fittings was fully exploited in a lifeboat museum with the specification of 11 different luminaires. TGA Consulting Engineers worked with David and Jane Darcy Architects to specify the functional light to illuminate preserved artefacts in the RNLI Grace Darling Museum in Bamburgh, Northumberland. They include Grace Darling’s original wooden boat.

Panos S downlights were applied to a number of display cabinets. Their flip-out tabs enable them to be repositioned easily without the help of a technician.

In the staircases, the light-emitting diodes of the Kava LED are directed downwards by a precision reflector, producing an indirect light source that subtly illuminates the staircases.

Other Zumtobel luminaires specified include the surface-mounted Mellow Light IV in office areas, Spheros in the education resource room and the Onlite Artsign for emergency-exit routes.
