Croydon’s tallest building has biomass boilers

Biomass boilers, Remeha
Croydon’s tallest building has its heating and hot-water requirements supplied by Remeha biomass and gas-fired condensing boilers.

Biomass boilers have been teamed up with gas-fired condensing boilers to heat Croydon’s tallest building, the 82 m-high Altitude 25 tower. The boilers were chosen from Remeha’s Gilles biomass and Gas Eco ranges.

This landmark building provides a varied mix of accommodation.

In the tower section, 25 floors of stylish modern serviced apartments provide contemporary living in the heart of the town. In the adjacent building is a range of affordable housing.

Prior experience with Remeha products led Vector Design to select two 360 kW Gilles biomass boilers and five Gas 210 Eco boilers to supply heating and hot water for the entire complex.

The wood-pellet boilers in the basement can be monitored and controlled remotely and automatically light and clean themselves. High-temperature combustion and the extended length of time the gases remain in the combustion chamber ensure clean burning.

The Gas 210 Eco condensing boilers are free-standing and pre-assembled for ease and speed of installation.
