Ameon delivers £million solar PV contract in just three weeks

Ameon, solar PV, renewable energy

In just three weeks Ameon designed and installed solar PV systems on 121 houses in east Lancashire, working against the clock to beat the Government’s deadline for reducing Feed-in Tariffs for residential systems. The project for Greenvale Housing Association was worth £1 million.

The work involved 1936 Suneker solar PV panels in installations of 16 panels to deliver 3.04 kW, plus Mastervolt inverters and GSM (smart meters in every home). The social-housing stock on several estates in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, and Haslingden, Lancashire, included bungalows and 2-storey properties. Each property will benefit from electricity savings of around £150 a year.

Three teams of roofers and two teams of electricians worked on the contract.

Ameon’s managing director Robin Lawson comments, ‘I don’t know if it’s a record to have installed so many systems in such a short period of time, but it must be pretty close to it, so we’re delighted we’ve been able to deliver for Greenvale and its residents.’
