An education in energy efficiency from Grundfos

Grundfos Pumps
Energy-efficient pump replacement at Bolton University uses Grundfos Magna3 pumps.

Following an energy check from Grundfos, substantial energy savings have been achieved by Bolton University by replacing existing circulator pumps with new Grundfos Magna3 equivalents. The energy check was part of an ongoing evaluation of its estate by the university.

The Magna3 range of medium and large circulator pumps has electronically controlled motors based on permanent-magnet and compact stator technology. They meet the Energy Efficiency Index (EEI) level set for 2015.

Within a few weeks of the energy check, an order was received for the full project, with installation soon after. The changeover to the new pumps was carried out with minimal disruption.
