Ability energy-efficient fan-coil units deliver cooling and heating for the Moorgate Exchange development.

Over 500 Ability energy-efficient Evolution 270 EC-DC 4-pipe fan-coil units have been installed in the Moorgate Exchange development in the City of London. Developed to the BREEAM ‘Excellent’ standard, this complex will provide 21 000 m2 of Grade A office accommodation over 12 floors.

The development is designed to minimise energy consumption and maximise available daylight. A sloping roof has made possible the incorporation of open and greened terraces to the upper six floors.

These chassis-type FCUs have cooling capacities of 0.8 to 5 kW and heating from 1.2 to 2.2 kW. They are installed in the ceiling void on each floor.

Ability supplied all the units with stainless-steel condensate trays, Traffolyte labels, free-issue 3 m flying leads with tap-off for common busbar, speed controllers, restraining chains on access panels, fan on/off relays, acoustic plenums and compact valve sets.

All units are designed to meet NR38 operating noise requirements.
