NBS launches Engineering Services Full Service specification product

The full version of the NBS specification software for building-service engineers is now available.

A full service version of the NBS specification system software for building-services engineers is now available. It builds on the success of NBS Engineering Services Abridged Service, launched in 2004 for domestic, commercial and light industrial projects. The content is authored and maintained by an in-house team of engineers at NBS. Ian Chapman, technical manager at NBS, says, ‘NBS Engineering Services has been developed by engineers for engineers. We have, however, drawn on over 30 years’ experience at NBS in producing the UK construction industry standard specification system.’ In addition to the Abridged Service content, the Full Service contains a library of work sections for more complex projects. The comprehensive content includes coverage of specialist systems such as medical gases, high-voltage distribution and water reclamation. Both services offer a preliminaries library for a wide range of contracts. In addition to the extensive engineering-services content, there are relevant building-fabric sections such as trenching, fire stopping and services painting. The fabric sections cover alterations to raised access floors and suspended ceilings, and are thus advantageous for engineering involved with turnkey projects. NBS specification products offer a range of quality-control and time-saving benefits, so that users can produce up-to-date and technically accurate specifications. Over 5000 offices use NBS.
