Jaga delivers effective heating for Sky building

Jaga’s Mini Canal perimeter trench heaters that deliver heat by convection without fans have been installed in Sky’s Believe in Better Building to help achieve a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating. Fan-assisted options were not possible because of the energy consumption and noise. The building is noteworthy for having a timber-frame construction.

The trenches were installed within the building’s main staircase in tailored boxes that Jaga provided specifically for this project. This resolved the issue of accommodating 450 mm floor voids for displacement ventilation, as well as delivering more heat to compensate for not using fan-assisted versions. These heaters use Jaga’s Low-H2O technology to substantially reduce the water content of the system.

The design process was helped by Jaga being able to supply Revit-compatible BIM files. Jaga was also able to stage deliveries so that Mace MEP received them floor-by-floor, synchronised with the construction programme.

Jaga also supplied customised roll-up anodised aluminium grilles and 28 Tetra designer radiators for the building’s stairwells.
