Durapipe supplies chemical drainage systems for Alder Hey

Durapipe, chemical drainage

Chemical drainage throughout the new £237 million Alder Hey in the Park hospital is provided by Durapipe’s Vulcathene Enfusion system. It has been installed in all theatres and pathology laboratories to dispose of chemical and clinical waste, which is collected at source and transferred to the underground drainage system. The company’s specialised PLX fuel-conveyance system has also been installed to serve the hospital’s back-up power systems.

This new hospital has become the UK’s first integrated children’s health park. Designed in consultation with patients and their families, this 51 000 m2 facility comprises 270 beds and 16 operating theatres.

Vulcathene’s proven track record within similar applications stretches back over five decades.
