Glow-worm Clearly Solar systems provide renewable energy for block of flats in Oldham

Glow-worm
Helping to meet the renewable-energy requirements of a block of flats in Oldham are Glow-worm Clearly Solar thermal systems.

Glow-worm Clearly Solar thermal systems have been installed to provide domestic hot water for a block of 24 flats in Oldham. The 16 systems were installed by City Plumbing to help meet the requirement for a certain percentage of renewable energy.

Chris Weeks, general manager of City Plumbing, which was called in to supply a solar heating solution to the contractor building the flats, says, ‘I contacted Alison Baron, regional sales manager at Glow-worm, and she went to meet site manager Roger Eyres of T. A. Knox to go over the plans. She then called on Nick Houghton-Best, one of Glow-worm’s Clearly Solar specialists, for advice, and we went from there.

‘Glow-worm’s Clearly Solar was chosen for the job, as they could provide us with a straightforward no-nonsense solution.’

The solar panels were installed as the first fix, with the cylinders following as the second fix.
