Keysource signs up to European code on data centres
Keysource, which specialises in the strategic design, building and ongoing management of data centres, has become an official endorser of the European Code of Conduct on Data Centres.
This code provides recommendations and examples of best practice that could reduce the energy consumption of data centres in Europe by up to 20%.
Mike West, managing director of Keysource, comments. ‘Research suggests that data centres across Western Europe consumed 56 TWh of electricity in 2007, and this figure is expected to increase to 104 TWh by 2020. We welcome the aims of the code of conduct to reduce energy consumption through the adoption of best practices leading to agreed energy-saving targets and support the development of minimum standards for compliance moving forward.’
