Battery-management system can handle all types of charger

Sophisticated battery management can be provided by Exide Technologies’ iBOS system.

Following the success of its 2100.Net battery-management system, Exide Technologies, which makes batteries and chargers, has launched two more systems — one of which is suitable for smaller fleets. They are the iBOS Basic and iBOS Pro (intelligent battery-organising system).

The Basic version is designed for small to medium fleets of up to 31 chargers in the same group. The iBOS Pro is for fleets with over 31 chargers. These systems maximise battery life by ensuring optimum use.

The iBOS system can be retrofitted to any fleet, with no limitation on the makes of chargers. The main function of iBOS is to ensure correct rotation and charging of batteries by monitoring charging regimes, advising operators of the next battery available and warning if an incorrect battery is taken. It will also highlight faulty equipment.

An unlimited number of batteries can be managed and in-depth analysis reports provided.
