MCS approval for Dimplex heat pumps

Dimplex. Microgeneration Certification Scheme, heat pump

Two Dimplex heat pumps have been recognised by the Government’s Microgeneration Certification scheme, making them eligible for LCBP2 and CERT funding. Through the course of the approvals process, Dimplex has agreed a methodology with certification body BRE for families of products to be tested and approved together.

Chris Davis, head of renewables with Dimplex, explains, ‘The product-families issue had been a considerable cause for concern across the industry. With this issue seemingly now resolved, MCS approval for the rest of the extensive Dimplex heat-pump range is expected to follow quickly, allowing access to funding for other models.’

The two models with MCS approval are the LA 40 TU air-source heat pump (pictured) and the SI 6 MEH ground-source model.

The LA 40 TU can achieve a flow temperature of up to 58°C and can be used in communal systems for apartment developments.

The SI 6 MEH can achieve flow temperatures up to 70°C, so it can generate domestic hot water at up to 60°C.
