TA does balancing act for Jordan Skyscrapers

Tour & Anderson, balancing, commissioning
The two 34-storey buildings of Jordan Gate Towers in Amman will have their hydronic balancing carried out using a solution devised by Tour & Andersson.

Hydronic balancing for the huge cooling and heating loads of the two towers in the Jordan Gate Towers project in Amman is provided by valves supplied by Tour & Andersson. When both buildings are up and running, their combined cooling load will be in excess of 18 MW and the heating load about 10 MW. The project consists of two towers with a mall between them. They are due for completion in June 2010.

The comprehensive valve specification drawn up by Tour & Andersson included a combination of STAD, STAF, Autoflow (for chillers) and terminal balancing valves.

Amjad Dabbas, managing director, comments, ‘We supplied a combination of our valves to create a bespoke system that would be able to cope with the intensive energy demands of the building, which, due to the extreme heat, was a real issue. Our specialist knowledge and expertise meant that we were able to deliver a solution that would meet these needs, whilst also helping to drive down installation time and associated costs.’
