New lighting halves energy consumption for Ipswich Building Society
Lighting energy consumption is expected to be halved at the head office of Ipswich Building Society following the installation of new lighting using intelligent luminaires from Cooper Lighting. The head office of this building society previously used switch start category 2 modular fittings with four 36 W lamps. They have been replaced with Cooper’s Intellect Digital Combiform Plus semi-recessed luminaires, which deliver a combination of direct and indirect illumination.
Further savings were provided by a 10% reduction in the number of lighting fittings required.
The new luminaires provide occupancy detection and daylight monitoring. They can be linked in programmable zones to suit the needs of staff. Cooper’s plug-and-play Connect wiring system simplified installation.
All installation work was carried out by electrical contractor Robert Forsdike Ltd.
