Taconova sets the pace for heat-pump installations
EarthEnergy, which designs and supplies ground-source heat-pump systems, has chosen Taconova setter valves to provide precise setting of flow rates and efficient measurement for a number of significant projects. These valves can regulate and isolate flow and provide flow measurement via a sight glass. The setting scale makes possible quick and accurate balancing without diagrams, tables or the need for expensive measuring devices.
EarthEnergy has installed these AV23 valves in projects in Nottinghamshire and the Cotswolds, approaching £500 000 in value.
A consultant from EarthEnergy explains, ‘As well as the ease of installation and operation, due to the AV23’s unique measurement system, the fact that the valves work in isolation of the system is vital for overall effectiveness. The primary aim of ground-source heat pumps is to achieve energy efficiency, and the Taconova setter ensures that the required flow rate is achieved and that energy and cost savings gained through using heat pumps are not negated by the inefficiency of excessive pump running costs.’
An important advantage of this setter valve is that reading the flow does not influence the main flow, eliminating the need for an additional shut-off device.
