Luxury hotel makes exclusive use of Waterloo air diffusers

Waterloo air diffusers
This dramatic bespoke curved diffuser forms part of the contract for air diffusers for the Hotel Verta in London supplied by Waterloo.

What is believed to be Europe’s first integrated hotel heliport solution makes extensive use of Waterloo air diffusers. The 5-star Hotel Verta is the first hotel in London for the luxury von Essen hotels group and is part of the award-winning Weston Homes development at Bridges Wharf in Battersea. The development on the south bank of the River Thames also includes luxury apartments and penthouses in three towers and adjoins the London Heliport.

The hotel’s design, inspired by the halcyon days of aviation, features a double-height atrium with a sweeping staircase up to the mezzanine. All guest accommodation, including 70 bedrooms and six suites, is furnished in a classically modern style, each with original artwork and bespoke fittings.

Based on performance and design quality, Waterloo was specified as the sole supplier for air terminal devices — which include swirl and louvre faced diffusers, in addition to bespoke straight and curved slot linear diffusers.

A notable feature is the substantial custom-built curved slot diffuser measuring 84 mm by 18 m in the ceiling above the bar. It reflects the bar’s own curvature and is backlit for a dramatic effect. The flow-control vanes are hidden for a consistent facial appearance.

M&E contractors were Imtech Aqua and Rapid Climate Control.
