Zip HydroTaps provide hot and cold water for drinks as a building service
A useful contribution to energy efficiency and productivity in the new headquarters of award-winning London architects BFLS (formerly Hamiltons Architects) is made by the installation of Zip HydroTaps on all five floors of this refurbished building. The practice has previously specified them for many clients to provide boiling water for hot drinks and chilled water for cold refreshments.
The installation of HydroTaps, which use mains water, avoids the need for separate water chillers and the associated delivery of large plastic bottles of water, reducing local traffic congestion and the carbon footprint of the practice.
Boiling water is always immediately available, reducing the time needed to make hot drinks. Energy is also save — up to 40% less than would be required using kettles.
Water is filtered using sub-micron technology, and hot water is dispensed at 98.5°C.
There are 15 models of HydroTap to suit all applications.
