Oventrop underfloor heating has been installed in the basement of an exclusive west-London dwelling to increase living accommodation.

Oventrop has supplied and installed one of its Cofloor underfloor heating systems as part of the refurbishment of a exclusive 3-storey dwelling in west London to provide 140 m2 of additional living accommodation in the timber-joisted basement. Using a 5-circuit manifold, the system is divided into four zones for a hallway, reception room, kitchen and conservatory. The system is served by a new condensing boiler, with sufficient capacity to also serve the radiator system in the rest of the property.

The Colfloor dry-build system comprises a 25 mm pre-grooved basemat into which heat-emission plates and pipe are fitted. A further 50 mm of insulation and extra support battens were installed below the basemat insulation to comply with Building Regulations. The final floor finish was parquet wood

The flow temperature is controlled to 50°C by an Oventrop Regufloor H temperature-control unit housed in a surface-mounted cabinet with actuators, wiring centre and wireless room thermostats.

The system was specified by consultants Harley Haddow of Guildford.
