Fastlane and Elta get their teeth into Thurso dental-clinic project

Ventilation equipment for a new dental facility at this hospital in Thurso has been provided by Fastlane Ventilation and Elta Fans.

The ventilation requirements of a new £1.3 million dental clinic at Dunbar Hospital in Thurso are met by two air-handling units supplied by Fastlane Ventilation and two units by Elta Fans. The order was secured on the basis of price and service for the clinic, which will cater for about 6000 patients. This scheme is part of a £5.6 million injection to improve NHS provision in Thurso, Dingwall, Oban and Campbeltown.

Fastlane Ventilation supplied one double-deck and one side-by-side Nevada heat-recovery unit. Elta Fans supplied two Quietflow single fans with silencers.

Nevada units can be installed inside or outside and are direct-drive units. Accessories include matching silencer and Summer bypass dampers suitable for motorised operation. For ease of installation, units have slide rails and entry points on the top, bottom or side. They are acoustically and thermally lined.

Elta’s Quietflow SQS fans are also acoustically treated. They are designed to overcome space restrictions in buildings with shallow ceiling voids and have exceptional sound characteristics when they are close to occupants.

The units were supplied through Elta’s distributor Keets of Glasgow and installed by Korrie Mechanical & Plumbing of Inverness.
