Hager halves installation time for lighting project

Hager, electrical installation, modular wiring
Fast lighting installation and easy reconfiguration — Hager’s klick.system.

Installation time for the lighting and control system for an office in the City of London office was halved by combining Hager’s klik.system lighting installation and tebis.KNX. The prefabricated system will make future changes to the lighting installation quick and easy.

The installation for the 720 m2 open-plan office on the fourth floor of Birchin Court was carried out by GT Electronics. Managing director Guy Tayler says, ‘We chose Hager’s klik.system for its speed of installation. The system has pre-tested cables, meaning less time on site. The colour-coded plugs allowed our electricians to easily identify which particular circuit the cables run to.

‘Another advantage of the klik.system is the multi-pin plugs, which allow dimming as well as 230 V power to each light fitting.’

There are three entrances to the office, and the control system is programmed to create a corridor of light when presence is detected in any of them.

Luminaires are grouped using kit marshalling boxes and controlled by a sensor that can control lights according to occupancy and the availability of natural light.

Hager engineers visited the site during and after installation to check there were no issues.
