Idealair delivers bespoke louvres for eco community centre

Idealair, louvre, ventilation

Idealair has produced bespoke triangular louvres for a net-zero-energy community hall in Cheltenham. Production of the louvres, functioning parts of the ducting within the dormer roofs of the building for its HVAC system, required specialist knowledge and manufacturing equipment to determine and produce the correct angles involved.

Idealair, part of Elta Group, was recommended to main contractor Bloor Homes for the project for its bespoke capabilities and lead times.

Edward Meridith of Bloor Homes, explains, ‘The net-zero-energy building will generate more than enough energy to balance the building’s power demands.’

The building is on a 124-home development at Stoke Orchard and is owned by the parish council. It will generate enough power during the day from solarPV panels to balance additional power requirements. Electricity that is not instantly required goes back into the grid.

Design features include thick walls, insulation and other energy-efficient materials and fittings.
