Major surge in orders for Castle Building Services

Castle Building Services has reported an increase in turnover to £23 million last year. The company has also secured £34 million in orders for 2015. One of the reasons for the growth is Government funding from the Education Funding Agency and an increase in major contract wins, particularly in the Hotel sector.

The East Kilbride office, opened in May 2014, performed better than expected. The launch of Castle Green Services in response to improved energy efficiency in the residential sector also had a positive effect.

Commercial director Allan Carr, said, ‘The year has been another incredible year for us. With a healthy order book in place, I am confident of more of the same, but we must not take things for granted. Whilst pockets of the country are seeing a turnaround in the construction industry, generally there is still a lack of investment. In this respect, the north east [Castle is in Tyne & Wear] has some way to go.’

In response to its growth, the company has undertaken a major recruitment drive, creating a number of new jobs in its Hebburn and East Kilbride office, invested in BIM training and committed to recruiting apprentices.
