Mikrofill plant chosen for nursery at University of Kent

Mikrofill, boiler, space heating, DHW

Space heating and domestic hot water for the new Oaks Nursery building on the Canterbury Campus of the University of Kent are provided by Mikrofill equipment. The building makes clever use of natural materials and organic colours inside and out to complement its beautiful surroundings. The plant was installed by Grummant Heating & Plumbing Services.

The LPHW system includes two Ethos 50 kW condensing boilers with Mikrovent low-loss header/air-and-dirt separator and pressurisation package.

DHW is supplied by an unvented Extreme 200 l loading cylinder indirectly supplied by the boilers. The loading cylinder is designed to work with a ∆T of 30 K, so it encourages the boilers to condense when prioritised for hot-water production. The loading cylinder has an onboard pasteurisation program.
