Software company uses finance to reduce its services costs by more
Cloud-based software company Software Europe has marked its 25th anniversary with an overhaul of the building services at its Lincoln headquarters, with the help of a finance package from Mitsubishi Electric. Existing plant included a 15-year-old AHU with a gas-fired LTHW coil and a DX chiller coil ducted-air system. The parts were obsolete and failing, and there was poor temperature control in the building. The new equipment has reduced costs by over £12 000 — much more than the interest payable.
The company took advantage of MELFinance to avoid burdening its cash flow with the up-front cost of the project. The new installation cost £107 000. It includes three Mitsubishi City Multi R2 VRF heat-recovery systems, electrics package and water heater in the toilet.
Installer Lynx AC removed the gas-powered system and replaced it with the City Multi unit to provide 95 kW of new air conditioning. AG150 centralised controllers give occupants more control over room temperature. There is now no gas coming into the building.
Removing the old equipment has cancelled about £1000 per month on gas and about £300 a month in electricity to run the fans and chiller plant. After the finance repayments, the annual saving is £12 290.
