Energy Event delivers the answers to effective energy management
The Energy Event at the NEC, Birmingham, from 15 to 16 September is a key exhibition and conference for major energy users and will help businesses as they grapple with energy-security issues, ESOS compliance and the drive to reduce energy costs and improve their sustainability performance. The heavyweight programme of presentations in the energy information theatre is supported by associate sponsor SMS Plc, in partnership with ESTA (Energy Services & Technology Association) and content partner the Building Controls Industry Association.
The exhibition has over 140 exhibitors. They include Corona Energy, Philips Lighting, British Gas Business, Haven Power, Dart Valley Systems, Schneider Electric, Airedale International Air Conditioning and Clarke Energy. One-to-one meetings can be arranged between visitors and exhibitors through the facilitated networking service ‘Energy connects’ on the web site — where you can register to visit.
The keynote session in the energy information theatre on the first day will be by Dr Gerd Kortuem, professor of computing at the Open University. He will demistify big data and explain how end users can make sense of their data and capitalise on the advantages it brings.
A presentation by Dr Bernd Leven, group head of energy at Tesco, will discuss how the retailer has reduced its energy consumption in its current stores. whilst saving money through enhanced energy-efficiency measures.
Oliver Rosevear, energy and environment manager at Costa Coffee will explain how audited energy usage of building structure and operating equipment has resulted in a 32% energy saving across the company’s retail estate.
Mark Penny, head of sales, energy solutions with JCB, will showcase how the company has driven cost savings through maximising efficiency and renewable-energy integration.
