Fernox commercial filter protects school heating system

Fernox, magnetic filter, cyclonic filter, deareation, maintenance, refurbishment

To protect the new heating system at an academy school in Somerset and avoid its life being shortened, Fernox’s new TF1 Delta filter has been incorporated into the system. Heat Radiation designed supplied and installed the plantroom and heating system for Honiton Community College, which has around 1050 pupils.

The TF1 Delta Filter combines three methods of filtration — magnetic, hydro-cyclonic and automatic or manual deaeration. It can be installed horizontally or vertically in four orientations, and there is no need to remove the filter from the pipework when cleaning it.

Chris Gray, owner and technical director at Heat Radiation, says, ‘Installed onto the 2-inch pipework, this filter is designed specifically for commercial applications like this school.

‘An installation like this, which has extensive underfloor heating, has to run efficiently and must be reliable. The filter will protect all of the system’s vital parts — the boiler, pumps, all the expensive bits. It will also help to lengthen the system’s lifecycle, which offers great cost benefits for the school.’
