Ductwork reducers have short length and low pressure drop

Short and compact, with low pressure drop — Lindab’s reducers for circular ductwork
LindabSafe reducers for circular ductwork are claimed to allow step-downs to be achieved in shorter distances than other compact reducers and, at the same time, create less pressure drop. It is also said that for step-downs of one or two diameters, they can perform better than some long reducers. For example, a 2-step reduction from 125 to 80 mm diameter will present a pressure drop of 11 Pa for a flow of 100 l/s. These RCU and RCFU male-male and female-male reducers cover 12 combinations of diameters from 100/80 mm up to 315/250 mm. Computer modelling and experimental testing has enabled Lindab to come up with an advanced bell-shaped design. All LindabSafe components are factory fitted with high-performance seals so that no further taping or sealing is required on site. There are considerable savings in cost and installation time. A competently installed system will achieve DW/144 Class D airtightness, three times better than Class C.
