Grundfos event explores the growing role of modular systems

Grundfos Commercial Building Services welcomed consultants, engineers, contractors and distribution partners from across the UK and Europe aboard HMS Belfast in London on Thursday 25th June to explore the growing role of modular systems in commercial building services.

The event, Off-site, On Board: The Future of Modular Systems, focused on how factory-built solutions are helping the industry respond to tighter project programmes, ageing infrastructure, sustainability requirements and the need to minimise disruption during building upgrades.

Hosted by Glynn Williams, Senior Area Sales Director, UK & Ireland, Grundfos Commercial Building Services, the afternoon combined presentations, live demonstrations and question-and-answer sessions, giving attendees an opportunity to learn more about the practical role modular systems are playing in today’s commercial building projects.

Engineers from Grundfos’ Sunderland manufacturing facility gave attendees an insight into the company’s modular systems for commercial building, fire protection and water utility applications. Their presentations highlighted the practical benefits of modular systems, including faster installation, improved quality assurance, simplified commissioning and the advantages of factory-built solutions for complex or occupied buildings.

The choice of venue purposefully reflected the event’s theme. Long before off-site construction became commonplace in the built environment, HMS Belfast was assembled from large, prefabricated sections in the shipyard, providing a fitting backdrop for conversations around the evolution of modular construction and the future of off-site engineering.

Pieter Swart, Grundfos Head of Specification, Fire & Modular Systems, commented: “The industry is looking for solutions that improve efficiency while reducing complexity on-site. The growth we are seeing in modular systems reflects a wider shift in how building infrastructure is designed, delivered and installed, with more customers recognising the benefits of factory-built solutions.”
