AMEC has won two contracts worth £85 million to deliver new further-education colleges in eastern England. One is a £50 million redevelopment scheme for Hertford Regional College. It will see the campuses at Ware and Broxbourne rebuilt with modern education facilities covering about 18 000 m2. AMEC is working with the college on front end and value-engineering studies prior to construction. The other contract is a £35 million redevelopment project for Suffolk College, Ipswich. It includes the building of around 22 100 m2 of multi-level educational facilities providing accommodation for vocational training, specialist and general teaching classrooms and central and specific administration.
