Clyde takes centre boiler house at Shakespeare’s old school

Starring at what is believed to be William Shakespeare’s school in Stratford-upon-Avon are new Clyde high-efficiency cast-iron boilers.

The line ‘’Tis lack of kindly warmth’ from Shakespeare’s ‘The life of Timon of Athens’ is no longer appropriate at King Edward VI School in Stratford-upon-Avon, where William Shakespeare is believed to have been a pupil. The reason is that four Clyde sectional boilers have replaced outdated boilers to deliver heating with a seasonal efficiency of over 84%. These 8-section boilers have 3-pass heat exchangers and serve the open-vented heating system with a combined output of about 1000 kW. They have 2-stage gas-fired burners and use conventional flues. Clyde’s BMS interface has been incorporated into the project and is linked directly to the council’s property-services department to enable remote monitoring of the system. These boilers were installed by Inderflame of Droitwich.
